Janine Brogt (born 1947) is a renowned dramaturge and playwright with an impressive track record in the Dutch theatre scene. She studied English literature and Theatre Studies at the University of Amsterdam and served as resident dramaturge at Zuidelijk Toneel Globe and Toneelgroep Amsterdam (now ITA Ensemble).
As a freelance dramaturge, she also contributed to productions by Dutch National Ballet, Orkater, Het Nationale Theater, and Dutch National Opera. In addition to her work as a dramaturge, Brogt is a gifted translator and librettist — and the creative mind behind the libretto of Otemba – Daring Women.
