Yemi Alade

Yemi Alade (1989, Nigeria) is an Afropop singer, songwriter, actress and activist. She won a talent show in 2009, after which she was given a record contract and scored a hit with Johnny in 2014. Since then, she has become one of the biggest artists from Africa. She sings in Igbo, Pidgin, Yoruba, French, Swahili and Portuguese. Her music is influential in many African countries, and she is praised for her versatility in using different African languages. She has done five world tours and is one of the coaches for The Voice Nigeria.
