In this excerpt, presenter Rob Klaasman interviews the Dutch dancer Ed Kortlandt, one of the dancers of Tanztheater Wuppertal led by German choreographer Pina Bausch. During the 1982 Holland Festival, ‘Walzer’ by Bausch had its world premiere in the Royal Theatre Carré. In 1982 the festival programmed four more of Bausch’s performances. Her work revolves around an interaction between dance, movement, speech and sets, in which she shows a wholly new form of dance.
