Wagner Moura wins Golden Globe

January 12, 2026

Wagner Moura won a Golden Globe on Sunday 11 January for his role in the film The Secret Agent. He is the first Brazilian actor to receive this award in the category of Best Actor in a Drama Film. Last year, Moura was also honoured for the same role at the Cannes Film Festival.

At the upcoming Holland Festival, Moura can be seen in A Trial – after An Enemy of the People, an interactive and razor-sharp reinterpretation of Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People, in which the audience decides how the story ends. The actor, best known to a wider audience for his role as Pablo Escobar in the Netflix series Narcos, co-wrote the piece with Brazilian director Christiane Jatahy, who is this year’s associate artist of the festival.
