Theresa Baumgartner
Profile
Theresa Baumgartner is a visual artist based in Berlin. Her work blurs the lines between A/V performance and installation art, using experimental filming techniques for her visuals and an approach to stage design rooted in fine art and sculpture.
Working as a broadcast director and producer for Boiler Room, she has helped shape the platform’s visual aesthetics since its early years. She also worked as assistant director on Lukas Feigelfeld’s critically acclaimed film Hagazussa – A Heathen’s Curse, which received several awards, including the First Steps Award and the Max Ophüls–Preis.
Baumgartner is the co-founder of BFF Productions, a video production company with a focus on supporting women in tech. She has presented her work at renowned institutions such as the Barbican Centre in London, MONA (Museum of Old and New Art) in Hobart, Tasmania, Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, La Gaîté Lyrique in Paris and Muziekgebouw in Amsterdam, as well as at acclaimed festivals including Unsound Festival, CTM Festival, Sydney Festival and Primavera Sound.
