Nakibembe Xylophone Troupe is a collective of musicians and singers from Uganda. The group is known for being one of the few to still play the embaire, a large wooden xylophone that is played by a maximum of eight musicians at the same time as they interweave rhythmic patterns and melodic phrases. Ensemble members also play other percussion instruments, which results in ecstatic, flowing, often cheerful and hypnotic compositions.
