Kiriko Mechanicus (1995) is an Amsterdam-based Dutch-Japanese filmmaker, culinary writer, photographer, and artist whose practice creates stories about the various things that people put in their mouths, from words to tomatoes, and including body parts.

Her work often concerns the theatricality and manufacturability of life, and her debut film HOW TO CATCH A BUTTERFLY (2026) will be premiering at SXSW in Austin, Texas.
