Jéssica Teixeira

Jéssica Teixeira (March 1993, Brazil) is a multidisciplinary artist, at times actress, dancer, producer, director and screenwriter. Performing since she was a child, Teixeira had already worked with several groups in the capital and Ceará’s inland before her first academic certification. She graduated in the first class of the Bachelor's Degree in Theatre at the Federal University of Ceará and holds a Master's degree in Arts from the Postgraduate Program in Arts, also at UFC.

Teixeira’s art places the body, in particular her own ‘strange’ body, as its subject and material, performing strangeness on stage, in turn establishing normality in it. Her investigation of the possibilities and limits of the body resulted in her first solo show, ELA (2019), which continues to be performed in Brazil and abroad.
