Jeangu Macrooy (1993, Suriname) is a Surinamese-Dutch singer and songwriter. He has been making music since he was thirteen and forms the other half of a duo with his twin brother Xillan. In the Netherlands, he often works with music producer Perquisite. On the two albums he released, he explores the possibilities of pop and gospel in personal songs about struggle, gratitude, hope and trust. He played the role of Judas in The Passion 2018, could often be soon on the talk show De Wereld Draait Door and was the Dutch entry for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021 with the song Birth of a New Age.
