Hicham Khalidi joins the Supervisory Board

Hicham Khalidi recently joined the Holland Festival Supervisory Board. The Supervisory Board sees in him a supervisor whose knowledge, work and life experience, network, vision and background will be of great value to the festival.

Hicham Khalidi is currently director of the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht. As curator in 2024, Hicham Khalidi was responsible for the Dutch entry to the 60th edition of the Venice Biennale where the collective Cercle d'Art des Travaillerrs de Plantation Congolaise (CATPC) presented a series of new artworks in collaboration with artist Renzo Martens. Prior to his directorship at the Jan van Eyck Academy, Khalidi was associate curator at Lafayette Anticipations in Paris, curator of the group exhibition ACT II of the Sharjah Biennale in Beirut 2017, acted as curatorial attaché for the Sydney Biennale in 2016 and was chief curator of the Marrakech Biennale in 2014. 

 

Hicham Kahildi joins as Astrid Helstone's successor. The Holland Festival Supervisory Board further consists of Carolien Gehrels (chairman), Hendrik Jan Biemond, Raquel van Haver, Guikje Roethof and Tom de Swaan.
