Black Pearl De Almeida Lima

Black Pearl de Almeida Lima (1994, Brazil) is a multidisciplinary dance artist, choreographer, performer and model based in Berlin.  Her work bridges contemporary, classical and voguing dance, and explores identity, embodiment and resilience.

Trained in São Paulo and at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim, she has danced with companies including Badischen Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Staatstheater Augsburg and Gauthier Dance Company, and is currently a member of the Ballet of Difference at Schauspiel Köln. She has also been featured in the short film PEARL, reflecting on trans identity and artistic freedom.
