Toon tipt Welcome to Asbestos Hall

"I can easily find myself on another planet – there are only a few things I can truly stay focused on: dancing or getting completely swept away in a performance."

As a contemporary dancer, Toon Lobach is most looking forward to Welcome to Asbestos Hall by our associate artist Trajal Harrell.

Welcome to Asbestos Hall is inspired by the original Asbestos Hall from 1962 in Tokyo, created by Tatsumi Hijikata. It will be an incredibly creative space where all kinds of things are happening – and as a visitor, you actually become part of the process. You won’t know what will end up on stage that very evening, and you get to watch something being created in real time.

"I think that’s something magical – something you almost never get to experience as an audience member. I think that’s one of the most beautiful things about this profession."
