The body speaks its own language and has a socially relevant message to convey. For his impressive 1994 choreography Still/Here, Bill T. Jones organised a series of workshops with terminally ill people. Their statements and movements were analysed and incorporated into the choreography of the work. Video footage from the workshops was used to show how strong and resilient people are, even when they are sick. Now, some twenty- five years later, a new generation of creators – audio-visual artists and photographers – are finding their own answers to the question of how to portray the eloquence of the human body. This exhibition showcases their work.
