Update Holland Festival 2020
The Holland Festival is currently looking into the consequences of the corona pandemic for the 73rd edition set to take place from 4 through 28 June 2020. We are in daily contact with international and national companies, artists and suppliers. Together, we are looking at the feasibility of presenting the shows in Amsterdam this summer. Naturally, we are following the instructions from the Dutch government and the RIVM as well. It goes without saying that the safety of all involved as well as the audience comes first.
At current, we are unable to provide concrete information about which shows will go on or may need to be cancelled. This depends on a number of factors, such as the situation in countries our productions and artists come from, but also how the situation in the Netherlands unfolds the coming months.
After talking with various subsidisers, funds and private financers, we are confident we will get through this difficult situation with their support.
We are concerned about everyone contributing to our productions: the artists and companies, who are from all over the world and in some cases are having difficulty completing their shows. But our suppliers, locations and venues hosting the festival are uncertain about the future as well, as are the large groups of freelancers we work with. We endeavour to help them as best we can.
If any shows are cancelled, Holland Festival will contact you, provided we have your contact details. We offer the option to exchange any tickets or to have the paid amount refunded. The latter takes time and may take a while, for which we ask your understanding.
We will regularly keep you updated on any new developments and showcase gems from the festival’s rich history on our social media channels and in our newsletter. We will also feature a number of suggestions for reading, viewing and listening and report on the many creators connected with the festival.
