Angélique Kidjo and Caroline Shaw win Grammy Awards

Last weekend, singer Angélique Kidjo received the Grammy Award 2022 Best World Music for her album Mother Nature. On 3 June, Kidjo will open the 75th edition of the Holland Festival in Carré with the performance Mother Nature. For the album, she worked with a range of young African artists. A number of them, Zeynab Abib, Yemi Alade and Blue Lab Beats, will join her on stage at the Holland Festival, where the Surinamese-Dutch Jeangu Macrooy will join the music party as well.

American composer Caroline Shaw won the Grammy for Best Contemporary Classical Composition with her composition Narrow Sea. Shaw also created the music for the silent film MOBY DICK; or, The Whale by Wu Tsang, which can be seen at the Holland Festival in June.
